Reasons why there is no water in your toilet tank

Issues with the trip assembly
The trip assembly is part of the flush handle connected to the toilet tank. You need to adjust the fill valve.
New toilet models have a float cup instead of the traditional float ball. Meanwhile, the fill valve manages the water flow to fill the tank with water. Sometimes, the fill valve slips out in place, so you have to adjust it from time to time.
Remove the toilet tank lid and check the float cup. There is an adjustment rod that connects the cup to the fill valve. To raise the cup and increase the tank’s water levels, twist the screw clockwise on the water level adjustment rod. Then, flush the toilet and wait for it to be refilled with water.
You need to replace or reposition the float ball.
Old school toilets have float balls to manage the tank’s water levels. It sits above the water and stops the water flow when it reaches a certain level inside the toilet tank. When the ball is set too low, not enough water may flow inside the tank.
First, remove the toilet tank lid. Slightly bend the float arm upwards. The ball should move up and let water flow into the tank. If the water level remains low, you might have to replace the float ball.
How to clean the toilet tank

To clean the tank, you can use white vinegar (distilled or the basic white vinegar). It is an all-natural cleaner that won’t break the bank. Remove the tank cover, and pour the white vinegar into the tank (don’t drain out the water before doing this). For best results, let it sit for 12 hours, then flush the toilet several times.
